She started off in this industry at the age of 16 as an early school leaver, she went straight into hairdressing as it was always her dream, started at the bottom as a shampoo assistant, to apprentice, to a qualified stylist, she and her mom went on to opening up a salon in the bay, before becoming a tutor. She has been doing this role for just shy of 3 years and loving every moment of it.

We asked Amanda a few more question to get to know her even more.
What is your favourite part of your job?
Seeing the learners grow, from the moment they start at Premier, to where they stand on Graduation day,..... melts my heart every time.
Where you get your inspiration from?
My children, they are why I do, what I do everyday. They are my world.
I admire Lady Gaga, she’s different all about people being there own person and that’s ok. She is a great role model to me.
What is your favourite time of day, and why?
My morning coffee, with the team, is always a good start to the day.
Why did you want to be a hairdresser?
The artistic side of it. Making people feel good, passion. Mum owned a salon and I ran it. She was an accountant.
What’s the highlight of your career so far?
Becoming a tutor, it has been always a dream of mine to share my experience.
What’s your best advice to someone entering this industry?
Anybody can do it if you have passion. Doesn’t matter where you come from or what you’re given you can have a lifelong career that can take you anywhere.
