Originally from Guangzhou, China, Julie and her family moved to NZ in 1977 and she worked at the customs reception desk at the airport. After years of raising her children she wanted to do something for herself and hairdressing has always been a big dream of hers. It was time to pursue that dream.
We asked Julie a few questions about her journey with Premier.
How has your journey been with Premier Institute of Education so far?
I enjoy every aspect of hairdressing; if I have to name a few it would be learning cutting, colouring , foiling and perming.
How have you found the support and learning environment at Premier?
They teach me in the way I understand.
Why did you choose the Premier Institute of Education?
The tutors made me feel welcome and they made my study schedule work for me.
What are your career goals?
I want to start my own salon.
When you are not at college, where would we find you?
Yoga, walking and of course, shopping.
If you can choose to be any animal which one would you be and why?
A peacock - a beautiful animal, it shines to attract people.
